LDA engages in an array of ongoing collaborative activities that
support the organization's work on behalf of individuals with learning
disabilities.
These activities include:
Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD)
A coalition of approximately 100 national disability organizations
working together to advocate for national public policy that ensures
the self determination, independence, empowerment, integration,
and inclusion of children and adults with disabilities in all aspects
of society.

National Joint Committee on Learning Disabilities (NJCLD)
A national committee of representatives of organization committed
to the education and welfare of individuals with learning disabilities.
Children's Behavioral Alliance
A group of organizations concerned about the provision of positive
behavioral supports and mental health services for students with
significant social, behavioral and/or emotional needs.

Healthy Children Project
LDA receives support from the John Merck Fund to promote grassroots
prevention activities aimed at reducing human exposure to toxic
chemicals in the environment. Such exposures are linked to increased
incidence of learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD.

LDA works with environmental and other health-affected groups through
the Collaborative on Health and the Environment (CHE) (900 organizational
and individual members nationwide) and its 90-member work group,
the Learning and Other Developmental Disabilities Initiative (LDDI).
LDA is also an active member of the Children's Health and the Environment
Partnership, a national alliance of over 80 organizations.
