July 17, 2007 HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the FY 2008 Labor. Health and Human Services Education Appropriations Bill (H.R. 3403) on July 19. This bill includes about $7 billion more than the FY 2007 Labor-HHS-Education appropriation, $10.6 billion more than the President's budget proposal and $2.3 billion more than the Senate and increases over FY 2007 levels for the following:
The President has promised to veto this bill and all others that exceed his recommended funding. Two hundred and ninety votes will be needed to override the veto. ACTION NEEDED The message: I am asking you to vote for HR 3043, the FY 2008 Labor-Health and Human Services-Education Appropriations bill funds the majority of federal programs which help individuals with learning disabilities to become successful and productive members of society.
